This is the latest version of Sony's top of line earbud. After we started carrying the Shure e2s, we were tipped off to these from one of our longtime customers and a self described "psycho about gear." He liked them so much that he practically insisted we carry them. The EX71's feature small 9mm drivers that are covered with extremely comfortable and soft silicone ear pieces (includes 3 sizes). Like the Shure e2's, these actually fit slightly into your ear canal, isolating it from outside noise and providing a crisp, full direct sound. The main advantage to these type of earbuds is that they not only block outside noise from interfering with your music, but also contain the sound so you don't interfere with other people. According to more than a few people, they're the perfect match for iPods and mp3 players. Includes extension cord and handy carrying case.
