This is a completely new design (released in 2006) in Sony's popular MDR earbud series. The MDR-EX90LP represents the higher end of the line, and according to my tests (and tests featured on audio blogs), these are clearly the best in the series in terms of audio performance. The volume, bass, and clarity are definite strengths here. The MDR-EX90LP is a definite step-up from the MDR-EX71, and challenge Shure's e2 series.

In terms of design, the MDR-EX90LP is quite striking without being too flashy. It features an aluminum body and soft silicone rubber earpieces (3 sizes are included). In addition, the MDR-90s come with a deluxe leather carrying case with cord management. Recommended.
