This year's 'Icon Issue' from the FADER pays homage to the late, great Aaliyah with remembrances from Timbaland (sort of...), Missy Elliott, Dame Dash, Chromeo's Dave 1, DJ Blaqstarr, Matmos' Drew Daniel, Cassie, Ciara, Andrew WK, The Gossip's Beth Ditto, Method Man, Mark Ronson, Kid Sister and lots more. It's touching and wonderful and the pictures are just... wow. Of course there's all the usual FADER accoutrement (record, video, drank reviews) and writing on Fool's Gold's Kid Cudi, the bassline craze, Lykke Li, and a nice piece on the awesome El Guincho by the equally awesome Jace Clayton aka DJ/rupture. Nice one, FADER. 160 pages.
