expand review foreword here), but actually locating the zine has been a difficult task. Fatal, the eleventh issue, comes out of its xeroxed exoskeleton, and gets reborn as this 12" x 9" softcover book. It's actually an anthology of the series thus far and it's so potent (and brain popping), you should only digest a couple pages per day (equally to savor and to protect your mind). Recommended. -the mgmnt
This shit blew up. We first picked these up a couple years ago (we were the first), thinking they would just be another one-off open ballistics piece; then it turned into a genuine phenomenon. The Gangsta Rap Coloring Book was everywhere! Now...
expand review itís back in the same basic format, but with more G's to color in, and notes from Sasha Jenkins (who does the ego trip description thing for everybody in here) and ignant rap connoisseur J-Zone. expand review (& $) on the packaging as they do on the contents. Itís a nice system. So while this issue includes work from and interviews with such names as Espo, Dalek, Chris Yormick, Ray Bradbury, Nonconceptual, Interpol, Tim "Love" Lee, Cornelius, and others, the real star and fun is in the packaging. It's a big candy box which includes a 184 page hard bound book/magazine, a 44 page comic-type "activity" book with the music features, 9 pop trading cards, a View-Master reel, 1 pack of gummi Pumas, and 3 gumballs! The box even includes a little press-in gumball dispenser on the bottom. Too cool, too fun. -mgmnt

expand review a show at our LA store. When will people finally get the message: Hamburger Eyes destroys monotony! If you're not aware of the movement, just think about every time you saw some cool, inexplicable, or completely random that gave you a jolt of brain juices. Well, Hamburger people always have their cameras with them, shoot old school film rolls, and capture the most beautifully random moments evah. Hardcover, approximately 200 pages, black and white. expand review boxset, (each book featuring art from each continent) truly encompassing their idea of a global street culture. It's fascinating the differences and (numerous) similarities shared by people in the culture through their artwork. It's actually no surprise that we're all pretty similar in what influences us these days (thanks to blogs, interweb, and incredibly easy access to information). The work displayed is from the cream of the global crop - influential artists/designers you've probably heard of or seen (though you might not know it). Artists and designers featured include - Maiden Noir, HUF, jeffstaple, Altamont, Stussy, Gravis, DC, and Obey from America; Fergadelic/Tonite, Gimmie Five, David Ersser, Stefan Marx, Studio Whitebox, Scrawl Collective, Solebox, and Fenchurch from Europe; Adapter, Taro, Apollo and Coarsetoys from Asia; Sneaker Freaker, Modular, Schwipe, and Josh Petherick from Australia, photos by Foley of Africa, and DIY from Antarctica(!). Books measure 180 x 180 x 35mm. Definitely a lot of material to soak in here. -snackmaster
