There's nothing like classic, vintage design books by the masters, but Kimberly Elam is making her own mark, first with her Grid Systems book and now with this Typographic Systems book (2007). Her books look like classic Swiss designs, but she updates the examples and adds new innovations like transparent pages with markings that go over the regular pages providing insight on the design process. Just to clarify, this book deals with the shapes and form of typography (rather than the actual letterforms). Excellent content, excellent book design, simply an awesome resource for any graphic designer. Softcover, 160 pages.
