R E V I E W
Import reissue of the famous ESG "EP." Following singles on Factory and CT Records, this 6 track monster dropped on NYC's 99 Records in 1981. It features a handful of ESG's most famous tracks, including "Moody(1), UFO(2)," and "Earn It(3)," with the first side containing 3 studio tracks and the second side 3 tracks recorded live at Hurrah, NYC in December of 1980. This is the Scroggins girls at their early/ grimey/ minimal best: drums, congas, bass, a little guitar and the awesome singing. Simply some of the best the punk/ funk/ post-whatever genre has to offer, and a rather expensive piece to get in the original issue (although K Lim once found a copy in the throw-away bin outside Stu's Records next door to our 7th St. shop). Plays at 45rpm just like the original, so you can pitch "UFO" down to 33 like they used to do.
