The Shoes series is definitely one of my favorites, delivering a string of Lab bestsellers with edits of "Love And Happiness," "Why Can't We Be Together" and "Shades of Jae." This might be the series' most creative release yet, as in a moment of genius, the unnamed producer edits Chicago-house classic "Percolator" with Afro-rock. The shit goes together like Sriracha and mediocre chinese food. The warm Afro-icity (I know, not a word) sheds light on a friendlier, gentler side of the big bouncer, Mr. Percolator. The flip features two more Afro-rock concoctions, the midtempo "Kyen Kyen" and the broken beated "Sweeper Soul." Recommended.
