Hands down, Shoes is one of the top re-edits series around. While everyone and their mamas are re-editing Italo tracks that nobody's ever heard of, Shoes attacks classics and diggers' favorites with the DJ in mind. Checkout the wicked beats re-edit of "After Laughter Comes Tears" by Wendy Rene, a song crucial to the early Wu Tang/RZA sound. I'll take that over a Harvey edit anyday. Bill Withers material is beggin' for re-edit action. The drums are already there, it just takes a couple production hours to get to sound this good. Check out the edit of "Grandma's Hands." Those two would make a damn fine 12", but they've gone ahead and added a cool dub beats track and a re-edit of "Nautilus." Recommended.
