Another great looking installment in the Penguin Classics series; even better, this deluxe edition of Pynchon's magnum opus features a new cover from comic god Frank Miller! Aside from Klaxons naming that song after it, Gravity's Rainbow is best known as "a postmodern epic, a work as exhaustively significant to the second half of the twentieth century as Joyce's Ulysses was to the first." Its digressive and sprawling narrative has earned it nearly as many critics as fans in the 35 years since it was published, but there's no denying that this is a truly important book. Besides, man cannot live off streetwear and rekids alone! If you've got a long flight or train ride coming up, do yourself a favor and take a little Pynchon along. And by "a little," I mean all 776 pages. Don't make me send Levar Burton after you!
