the lab review
Few labels are able to cover as much ground these days as the ultra-cool Parisian imprint Kitsune, and this on-point doublepack compilation is no different. Plenty of bang for your buck with 12 tracks here, all of them hovering around the poppy fusion of electro, house and buzzing beats that's been causing a stir lately. Crowd favorites like Tiefschwarz turn in a pumping, punky remix of Chikinki's "Something More(1)," Volga Select (Paris' Ivan Smagghe) drops a thick clubby electro-house bomb with "Transe(2)" and Popular Computer's "Darling(3)" conjures up visions of moody 80's europop. More nuggets come from DJ Assault, whose usual Detroit booty bass goes hip-house with "Nympho(4)"and Joakim's robo-breaks killer "Teenage Kiss(5)." All unreleased, all of them gold.
