Now on vinyl! Extremely limited pressing. For the second release on Finders Keepers' B-Music sub-label, they've pulled a pretty neat trick. Their steez seems to be reissuing impossibly rare records, and Susan Christie's album Paint A Lady certainly falls under that category - considering it was never actually released. Recorded in 1969 and pressed in a miniscule batch in 1970 (we're literally talking about a handful vanity copies for Susan and her family), B-Music recovered one of the original copies of the LP, and from there hunted down the master tapes. Now everyone gets to hear this lost gem (I won't say "masterpiece," but it's pretty darn good), including Susan's more ren-fair sounding stuff like "Rainy Day(1)," and the folk-funk of "Paint A Lady(2)." Other highlights include the epic "Yesterday, Where's My Mind?(3)," which has Ms. Christie reciting a sleazy Gainsbourge-esque monologue over skittering drums and ominous organs, and the gorgeous Free Design-y album closer "No One Can Hear You Cry(4)."
