French electro-pop (er, "Tecktonik" -ed.) cutie Yelle's first album, which includes the Tepr remix(1) of her big single "A Cause Des Garcons(2)." I haven't the foggiest idea what this girl is saying, but she sure sounds like she's having fun saying it and her production -- half throwback, half dirty nu electro, all synth-heavy -- is spot on. (If you didn't know better, you might think album opener "Ce Jeu(3)" was really a lost late 80s / early 90s heater.) More jams: "Mon Meilleur Ami(4)," "Je Veux Te Voir(5)," "Mal Poli(6)." Comes with a full lyric booklet (en Francais, of course). 13 tracks, 51 minutes.
