Mysterious CD that floated in from our NY store. Apparently Bim Marx is actually a new project from NYC's Duane Harriot (superb DJ who regulary spins at APT) and Jorge Velez (aka Professor Genius from Italian's Do It Better fame). The two have put their musical minds together to create an album of incredible edits that range from deep and funky styles, to more intense, psychedelic flavors all done with major style and class. Check the ultra-smooth disco funk of "On Our Way(1)" featuring Dam-Funk from Stones Throw, "A Toast/Wildthing(2)" which goes for a NASTY, raw funk rock feel, the stompin' soul grooves of "Harlem/Can't Leave You(3)," the deep and soothing sounds of "Miss I/Wanda V(4)," and "Strong Arms/Love Me Baby(5)." QUALITY. Fans of Trus'me, Theo, and Moody, should definitely check. Recommended.
