No homo, Soulfire's first 12 inch is banging! The wide grooves here truly bring out some warmth on this track, a wonderful 10 minute, 2 part, prep-school required blazer. As cliche as it sounds (but just listen), the drums provide the backbone here, setting stage for some understated accompaniment, including effected horns, and yummy bass lines and organ licks. Part 2(1) wins again, as the band unwinds in the traditional flipside way. Sure, this sounds like a generic funk review, but this track is anything but. Satisfying like stabbing babies in the chest!
