R E V I E W
Spoon scooped up some serious remixes for this EP, which features their shuffly, hip-swaying rendition of "Don't You Evah(1)" by the Natural History. Ghostly's Matthew Dear starts his remix(2) gently, looping little guitar fragments as frontman Britt Daniel's vocals ride the beat. But it builds as it goes, stacking layers of spaceship synths and arcade sirens 'til it lifts off for parts unknown. Diplo's mix(3) takes the minimal approach, utilizing squelching dubsteppy sub-bass, while indie rocker Ted Leo(4) comes with a surprisingly heavy Jamaican style dub. Also includes the original Natural History version of "Don't You Ever," the unreleased Spoon track "All I Got Is Me" and additional remixes by DJ Amaze & Alan Astor and Doc Delay. Sidenote: the Get Up Kids' bass player is in Spoon now? 8 tracks; 35 minutes.
