Lab Overview

The 20th Red Hot compilation put together the National. Though the Red Hot organization often sticks to a much more demanding theme throughout their excellent compilation series, 'Dark...' strayed slightly from the course. Named after Blind Willie Johnson's 'Dark Was The Night, Cold Was The Ground' the comp does has a slight over arching theme that happened more coincidentally by including some of the biggest indie artists new and old that craft music in more timeless fashion than most. Included on the three LP set are Nick Drake, Talking Heads' David Byrne, Bon Iver, Yeasayer, Bob Dylan, Conor Oberst + many others. A fantastic listen from beginning to end that can impress your bespectacled date or soundtrack your lazy Sunday brunch with your wife and dog.
