Michael Leonhart has been playing trumpet on Truth & Soul releases for a few minutes, but only now is he seeing his own release. This debut 7" for Leonhart and his Avaramina 7 is a slice of funky psychedelia. "Scopolamine(1)" and "Gold Fever(2)" bring together afrobeat horns and drums with some seriously wild sounding, reverb soaked vocals. It almost sounds like if all the acid freaks from the Bay in the 60s took a vacation to Nigeria and got down with Fela. Definitely a nice, left-field addition to the T&S catalog.
