New white label EP from DIY hipster rap heroes Ninja Sonik. The title track(1) features an uptempo, minimal floor tom beat and lyrics that carry on the fine hip hop tradition of warning you against doing it raw, lest you knock somebody up. Things get a little wierder on the flip, starting with "Shoot The Lazer(2)," which samples that opening song from The Lion King. "Daylight(3)" borrows the instrumental from the Matt & Kim song of the same name, and aims to become a Williamsburg resident's anthem with lines about sleeping until dusk, skating down Grand street and DJing at Savalas. The closer, "Stir(4)" is a staccato Bmore style edit of what sounds like a track recorded on someone's stoop, a nice and fun audio nugget. The A side also includes the instrumental and accapella for "Somebody Gonna Get Pregnant." Both sides play at 45.
