For those of you feeling that deep soulful house sound that has been coming out of Detroit, Theo Parrish returns with another winner. This time around Theo's productions are treated to the smooth vocals of Detroit house veteran Billy Love and the combination works like chocolate and peanut butter. Theo lets loose on the instrumentals and sets the tone for Mr. Love's vocal explorations leaving you with something that is equally effective late night in the club or between the sheets. From the opening piano chords of "Can't Keep Running Away(1)" you know that you’ve turned on the red light. The rest of the tracks on the record keep the feeling going, from the elevating "U Bring Me Up(2)" to "Why Wait(3)" and its jacking rhythm. The title track "Melloghettomental(4)" throws the psychedelic soul switch on overdrive and ends up with something reminiscent of Marvin Gaye at the Music Box.
