"Love and Happiness" has recently been the subject of several successful remixes. It's quite amazing how it translates so easily into downtempo and even house frames, which speaks volumes about Willie Mitchell's original production. This new version is my personal favorite thus far, but it's more like a re-edit on Ritalin (hyper-attentive) than a remix. Impeccable loops and tasteful dub effects accentuate Al Green's soul grunt; uncontrollable head-nod in effect. About halfway through, the rest of the vocals kick in and it's a beautiful thing. The B-side features an equally hot downtempo overhaul. Recommended.
