Ever since Rong has switched to UK distribution, the label has gone through a rebirth, and Mudd has been at the forefront. He's killing them with his slowed down cosmic sound, which is in sharp contrast to all the uptempo italo stuff coming out these days. Quiet Village's remix of "Speilplatz" is a perfect example of this slow-building, rich, and fulfilling aesthetic. Mixmasters, please let this track play through, it really comes together in the final minutes (it's over 13 minutes long!). "Plot Of Land" featuring female vocals travels into folky territory, which seems to be the next hot sub-genre judging by the promos floating through our office. Lastly, label head Spun delivers a remix of "Mount Pleasant Land." It's a Harvey-style rework which hints at minimal techno and old school Detroit (with an axe solo to boot).
