Fort Knox Recordings is quickly becoming a staple source of midtempo beats. Part of their success is that they continually apply different musical styles to their DC beats. It was just a matter of time before they hit the current Brazilian musical hot pot. "Brazilian Hipster" starts off magically with a sample loop so full of texture, I want to stick it down my pants. The track progresses steadily, but I expected more bite after an opening like that. On the flip, Dr. Rubberfunk takes a stateside approach to the track, sounding like a one 7" wonder Texan funk band. And in authentic rare side style, he offers a part 2 Beats and Bass mix complete with multiple drum breaks sections. Solid as usual.
