I read an interview with DTL sometime last year where he said "When I go mainstream..." I was like, when?!? Damn, I guess it's like that then. I mean this shit isn't quite "Umbrella" territory or anything just yet, but I could see a whooole bunch of 16 year old French kids with weird haircuts blasting this in the park on a Sunday, and that's a good start. The Curses! Project seems to be moving in the poppy styled dance direction, but still maintains that bassy grit and grime his Drop The Lime moniker is known for. "What I Need", brings the diva chipmunk vocals at their most soulful. It's hooky, tasteful, fun and progressive. Welcome to 2008, for real. London's new up and coming bassline/garage star, Dexplicit turns in a bubble bass heavy remix and Drop The Lime himself (ALTER EGO ALERT!) remixes his own track to prove he's still true to his harder roots. WOBBLE WOBBLE WOBBLE WOBBLE SNAP WOBBLE WOBBLE SNAP SNAP!
