Extreme Animals' music is what you'd expect Paper Rad's insane dayglo artwork to sound like if it started emitting noise, and it's no surprise given that 1/2 of the band is also 1/3 of the design collective. Put another way: imagine the drummer from Lightning Bolt drunk and half-assing it, playing a busted Nintendo with one hand while his friend scrolled through an oddly diverse iTunes library looking for exactly the right song to listen to and sampling tiny fragments of everything along the way. (The little UGK snip in "Black Bartholomew" really hooked me.) I dunno, check it for yourself - certainly not everyone's cuppa joe, but sweet manna for folks who can get with the artsty MIDI/RISD sound. (Although if that's the case, you probably heard about it like totally forever ago and are already so over it.) Tracks to check: "Kid Forever," "Massive," "Booty Melt," "Die Zauberflote."
