Gucci Soundsystem (aka Riton & Ben from Fat Truckers) step out of the remix shadows for an original 12" on DFA's Death From Abroad imprint. "Acarpenter(1)" is a retro-sounding piece of techno-funk that takes a minute to warm up, but once those 80s synth stabs drop in, it's a wrap. This also features an extended Joakim remix that has that War Games epic quality to it. The real heat, however, might be the inside cut, the rumbling "Lord A Mercy."
