Andy Caldwell is of the deep-as-house-can-get ilk, so four remixes from four different producers is a smart move. I'll begin with Chuck Love's "Bangers & Mash Mix," which is straight-forward bliss. The trumpets, the smooth vocals from Lisa Shaw, and some marvelous atmospherics blend together for a true house masterpiece. The B-Side's true beauty is the often unheard from David Alvarado. This guy hides out for months at a time, then comes out of the woodwork with some serious heat. His version of "Warrior" is some serious for-the-heads-only shit. Definitely will be hearing this at one of Francois K's nights. Andy's own "ReRub" of "Warrior". He picks up the pace quite a bit from the original, and turns it in to a nice, progressive gem. Of course, Claude VonStroke, to quote Wu-Tang, "brings the mothah fuckin' ruckus". I've not been that big of a fan of The Dirtybird, thinking he was a one-hit wonder after "Deep Throat", but man alive... he's baaaaack! You feel that? Yeah... that's you losing control of your body. Just do what it tells you and freak out.
