After checking Koushik's eclectic dj set at our WMC party and hearing his Madvillain remixes, I'm looking forward to what he can bring to the Stones Throw stable this year. This compilation brings us up to speed, collecting the first three Koushik vinyl-only EPs (the first on UK's Text Records, his Stones Throw's debut One In a Day EP, and the recent Be With vinyl EP). What you'll hear is some expertly-produced tracks that remind me of his friend Fourtet in craftsmanship: tight drums, unexpected samples, and real open style that borrows from psyche, indy rock, and others. Super-creativo. Checkout: "Be With, Homage, Pretty Soon, One In A Day, Back To The End, Ride It Out, Battle Rhymes for Battle Times," and "Ew." Recommended.
