Kid Gusto singles have been a hit at the Lab, consistently selling through when we have them on vinyl. Here's one from 05, released on DC's Rhythm and Sound label. KG goes a little bit more refined for this refined label (which also released the excellent Farid 12"). "Movin On" is just a gorgeous downtempo track, and displays am immense amount of production finesse (love the fingersnaps). I'd buy the single for that track alone. "Spy Bossa" is a bossa-jazz track a la Bogmanian, while "Gange" starts off typically, but launches into heavy indian-style percussion. The record ends with "Troubled Times" a psyche styled track with hints of tabla and some mysterious vocals. Impressivo.
