Paul Epworth's resume is pretty unfuckwithable. You've almost definitely heard one of his productions or remixes at some point in the last year and probably don't even know it. Bloc Party, The Rapture, New Order, Simian Mobile Disco, even megastars like U2 and Diddy - Phones has worked with 'em all, and now he's finally taken some time off for this two-track solo teaser on Kitsune. (I heard last year that Epworth had retired the Phones name, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.) "Sharpen The Knives" is a squelching electro-stomper with a repeating build-up that just won't stop; it's one of those Justice type things, where some totally ugly distortion/feedback somehow becomes really hype in the context of the track. "Worryin'" is a bit more mellow, but still totally within the realms of Kitsune-dom. Nice beat, but not too much happening, maybe it'd be good for one of them (uh oh) mashemups?
