the patented lab review lab informed suggestions
Reggae compilation masters Auralux dip into the productions of King Jammy. Like their previous compilations, they go for the rare and the great here, focusing mostly on tracks from the pre-digital days. And man do they come with some serious tunes! You get extended (7 minute plus) versions of Michael Rose’s “Born Free,” Junior Reid’s “Jail House,” Barry Brown’s “School Days(2),” and a couple Lacksley Castell tracks; Hugh Mundell versioning “Queen Of The Minstrel” for “King Of Isreal,” plus the Johnny Osbourne classics “Lend Me Your Chopper” (can you please ball forward?!) and “Folly Ranking,” and a few Jammy’s dubs. Excellence, as usual.
