What does the i stand for in the new SR60i from Grado? Improved, that's what! Yes, Grado has taken one of the world's most legendary headphones and taken it a few steps further. And The SR60i will produce a sound that is pure Grado, warm harmonic color, rich full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and an ultra smooth top end. Listen and Enjoy!
The SR60 has gained "LEGENDARY" status.

Technics
RP-DH1200 Headphones
The new top of the line from Technics raises the bar for durable, comfortable and quality sounding headphones. The RP-DH1200 has also been designed to match the look of their SL-DZ1200 cd turntable with a clean, polished design and Technics' signature strobe dots around the earpieces. In addition to the new look, they have made some major functional and structural improvements to their previous DJ headphones. These include larger 50mm drivers, a higher power input capacity (3500mW), and perhaps most importantly- a one-sided detachable cord, which eliminates a major source of headphone breakage. The joints between the earpieces and the headband, another area where dj headphones are commonly broken, have also been significantly reinforced; so these should be Technics most durable headphones yet. Everything about the construction is robust- thick padded headband, large cushioned earpieces, they weigh almost 5 pounds- providing both comfort and the ability to block outside noise. High recommendation for djing and studio use. Comes with a leather carrying pouch.

Grado
SR80i Headphones
What does the i stand for in the new SR80i from Grado? Improved, that's what! Built on the same features as theSR60i, but SR80i utilizes a 4 conductor connecting cable and the diaphragms are put through a special 'de-stressing' process in order to enhance inner detail, the result of which gives a more open stage. The new SR80i has an upgraded driver design, and they have enlarged and improved the mass distribution in the plastic housing. The way the SR80i's new driver and plastic housing move air and react to sound vibrations are now less affected by transient distortions. The SR80 provides an improved bass resonance, which enhances the overall detail. With the SR80i you will notice improved control of the upper and lower range of the frequency spectrum with both better supporting Grado's world renowned midrange. The SR80i will produce a sound that is pure Grado, warm harmonic color, rich full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and an ultra smooth top end. Listen and Enjoy!

RP-HTX7 Headphones - Green
These retro-styled headphones feature the coolest "new" headphone design we've seen in a while. The RP-HTX7s look so sleek (especially with the understated blue-ish grey ear pieces), plus they include all the correct vintage details like an authentic leather, sewn head band cushion and extra-cushy ear pads. As for sound quality, the RP-HTX7s compare favorably to Sony's V500 with 40mm drivers and 1000mW power capacity, making these ideal for listening and casual home DJ use.

ATH-PRO5MSA MS Headphones - Camo
These special camouflage colorway headphones have become semi-legendary, previously only available in Japan or in very small run import batches (they still come in Japanese boxes). Aside from their unique look, the ATH-PRO5 MS is comparable to the domestic ATH-M30s, featuring 40mm drivers, sturdy construction, and comfortable padding. Sound quality is above average for this price range, with strong bass and clearly defined mids. The cord features a convenient single-sided ear piece attachment, and comes with a protective metal sheath around the plug for extended life. The included 1/4" adaptor screws onto the standard 1/8" plug with a smooth metal connection. Suitable for active dj or casual use.

Sony
MDR-V700DJ Headphones
These are part of the dj remix edition, specifically designed for DJing. Structurally, you get strong construction (most pieces can be tightened by screw, the ear pieces are made of metal), precise moving joints that won't wear out, swiveling earpieces for beatmatching, and a super comfortable fit. The single cord is coiled, so you don't trip over yourself in the DJ booth. Plus these look mad fly with all the perfectionist details including a slick carrying pouch.
The most striking feature has got to be the sound quality... crisp highs and deep lows. The 50mm drivers allow these phones to push some serious volume. The sound is top of the line pro-consumer... meaning you can't go any better without spending 250+.

Sony
MDR-V500DJ Headphones
If you ask us, these headphones are a steal at this price. These are built almost exactly like the v-700s minus a few luxury features. They also have smaller ear pieces for those who like it more incognito. Rugged as hell, with swiveling earpieces, fold up design, and coiled cord. Excellent, loud, digital-capable sound quality provided by 40mm drivers. They also look much better in person, this picture doesn't do these justice.

Audio-Technica
ATH-M30 Headphones
Another very solid headphone from Audio Technica, the MTH-30s compete with higher priced models with their mid-level price, quality construction, and excellent sound quality. The MTH-30 builds on the solid foundation of the MTH-20s with beefed up sonic ratings (which are easily discernable to the untrained ear) and improved construction and parts. The attachments are a bit more substantial, the ear pieces are able to swivel slightly, the cord is uncoiled, and plug is an upgraded version.

Xone XD-53 Headphones
Allen & Heath's name is synonymous with premium mixers, but with the XD-53 they have applied their sound know-how to headphones. The XD-53's feature professional performance specifications and rugged reliability with a style that will complement any DJ setup (especially the Xone mixers). Check the details: 53mm drivers with high powered neodymium magnet design, rotating ear pieces for easy one-ear monitoring, coiled cale with one sided exit, and a folding design that fits in included carry pouch. In addition, the XD-53's incorporate a circumaural design which provides excellent isolation from ambient noise (great for DJ's working in loud environments) and are also great for home studio monitoring. Basically, if you are serious about sound quality and DJ functionality, these are for you. Recommended.

AKG
K81DJ Headphones
The little brother of AKG's professional level K181 DJ headphones, the K81DJs share many of the K181's features at a much more affordable price.
The sound quality on the K81's is outstanding for the price. They naturally have a loud output, and when tested in-store the bass and treble remained clear even with mixer volumes turned all the way up. The design of the K81s remind me of Sennheiser's SP1 headphones (which is a very good thing). As opposed to most bulky dj headphones, these are streamlined in all ways, with smaller yet very powerful earpieces, slim cord and no nonsense construction. I personally prefer the smaller size earphones because they are lighter on your head and generally create a better "suction" between your ears and the earphones. The ear pieces feature unique swivel action that allows them to turn nearly 360 degrees, which makes single ear monitoring easy and more comfortable. They are also covered with a rubberized finish for easy gripping and adjustment. The K81's are definitely a top choice for this price range.

Sennheiser
PX 200 Headphones
If you haven't been satisfied with small earbuds or bulky dj headphones, Sennheiser has made the ideal street wear phones with the PX series. They feature an enclosed back system and excellent drivers that give you the sound quality of larger DJ headphones in a much tighter package. The PX 200's small size and light weight (they weigh only 65 grams) makes them perfect for everyday portable use. The headphones cover your central ear (vs. the whole ear), with a comfortable, snug fit and the enclosed nature helps keep out external noise. Performance-wise, the PX series features Sennheiser quality sound with an emphasis on warm, natural output and excellent bass response (the Sennheiser headphone sound is a Lab favorite). Best of all, the PX series features a smart folding design, and an included plastic carrying case that eliminates tangled wires and fits easily in your pocket. The PX200 performs well with iPods, portable CD players, and casual home usage. Recommended.

AKG
K181 DJ Headphones
AKG has made their name with over 60 years of experience with studio microphones, headphones and wireless systems. With a super reliable sound and attention to comfort, they've developed a cult following with studio guys and anybody serious about sound. Although their studio headphones can also be used by djs, the K181's are their first headphones specifically designed for dj use. They've spent a lot of time developing these and the results give you pretty much everything you could ask for in a professional set of DJ headphones.
To begin with, the sound maintains AKG's reputation with a very high output that maintains clarity even under the highest power conditions. These were designed to be used in any sound environment and have a power rating of 3500mW (much higher than most dj headphones). That great sound is kept in your ears with a comfortable closed-back design that also helps eliminate external noise pollution. For active dj'ing, the K181's offer a bunch of features that dj's will find useful. The ear pieces feature a unique swivel action, nearly able to turn 360 degrees, which makes single ear monitoring easy and more comfortable. The cord is one sided and detachable (with mini xlr attachment), so it won't get in the way and can't get yanked out while moving around (this is one of the top ways dj headphones break). They also have 2 switches on the ear piece: one for bass boost, and one for changing between mono and stereo sound for easy one ear mixing. In terms of construction, these feel very strong + durable. The extra flexible design means that you can't break them as easily and the ear pieces are that thick & plush leather that won't rip off. And finally, the outer ear pieces are made with a rubberized finish for easy gripping and adjustment.
These are great dj headphones. The sound quality is excellent, they fit snugly on your head to block out exterior noise, they feel very durable and they have a bunch of cool features that'll make your life easier. Highly recommended.

33 1/3 Headphones - Chrome/Silver
great sounding, headphones designed in LA
Eskuche (or "listen" for the Spanish speakers) headphones not only have a sleek and stylish look, they also sound great and come at an affordable price. The 33 1/3 model is audio engineered with LR Soundsystems, a basic audio output orientation that recognizes the importance of properly balancing left and right sides creating optimal audio experiences. They feature 40mm drivers, full frequency range, 32 Ohm impedance and 112dB sensitivity. But enough technical speak, these things just look so sharp! With soft ear cushions, a pliable head band for comfortable extended wear, woven cloth cords, and a unique "Interchangable Cording System" (1 cord strictly for audio, another with a mic for your iPhone or Blackberry), these headphones have got you covered. Nixon started out making custom built watches in the late 90s and are now applying their sleek sense of design and functionality to headphones. The Master Blaster model is Nixon's top of the line and it is most luxurious. Boasting loud 50mm drivers for crisp, full range sound, patent-pending ball and socket connection for almost limitless range of motion for a true custom fit, and a lightweight metal construction with full size volume knob on the earpiece(!), you can tell these are built for comfort, durability, and performance. You'll also notice as you take it out of the box the rich smell of leather, which is actually coming from the hand-crafted, real leather ear pads and headband. So fancy. Comes with a removable, one-sided cord and a custom molded foam carrying case with accessory pocket. Recommended.

Grado
PS1000 Headphones
From the Grado site - "The PS1000's are the very best Grado headphone ever made." That is quite a statement, especially from Grado, a company renowned for their top notch headphones. Obviously the PS1000's are for serious audiophiles (the $1695 price tag should have clued you in) that demand the best in every aspect of sonic detailing. The thing that makes these headphones so special is the hybrid metal/wooden construction that incorporates the tone and timbre of the RS1's, while maintaining the superior Grado mid-range and a resonance reduced decay. The PS1000's also feature large cushions as providing a very comfortable fit on the head, great for very long listening sessions, and also create large sound and headstage. If you are serious about sound and want the best, this is it. Recommended.

Grado
GS1000 Headphones
Grado is the go-to brand for top quality, audiophile headphones. The Brooklyn based company has been crafting headphones for years with much praise, but the GS1000 takes the Grado sound to a whole new level. This is the new top of the line flagship model (previously the RS-1 model) with a redesigned look for the new millennium.
The GS1000 updates the retro look (though these still have a very retro feel) of previous Grado's with more contemporary styled, hand-crafted mahogany earcups and much larger foam earpads. The redesigned driver and better ear placement (due to bigger earpads) creates a "room" for the ears to sit, creating a larger soundstage and greater spatial experience for the listener. The headband is covered in real leather as well for a vast improvement (the best?) in looks, performance and comfort.
From the Grado site - "The GS1000 retains a sound that is pure Grado, rich full-bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and an ultra smooth top end. The presentation is very detailed, the bass is deep and the music is very tight and non-fatiguing. All with a soundstage that is huge allowing for unbelievable separation and layering of the music which is simply stunning."
These headphones have one numerous top awards from Hi-Fi Choice magazine, T3Home magazine UK, PFO, and more. Recommended.

These are the upgraded PX 200 II's that feature the same small size and light weight (they weigh only 65 grams), but with a sharper design, longer lasting single sided cable with intergrated volume control and sturdier, re-designed headband. The headphones cover your central ear (now slightly larger than before for an improved "seal"), with a comfortable, snug fit and the enclosed nature helps keep out external noise. Performance-wise, the PX series features Sennheiser quality sound with an emphasis on warm, natural output and excellent bass response (the Sennheiser headphone sound is a Lab favorite). Best of all, the PX series features a smart folding design, and an included storage pounch that eliminates tangled wires and fits easily in your pocket. Recommended.
