These aren't my faves but some of the newer
records that have found my way into my collection. - jgs

TITLE:Let's Go Streakin Tonight b/w Funky Streaker
ARTIST: Backlash
LABEL: Memphis Express 1974

The B-side is a horn-driven funk with a nice little break to set it off properly.

TITLE: Son of Scorpio b/w D-Vader
ARTIST: Coop & The Allstars
LABEL: Space

Pretty much cover of Scorpio (could be even Dennis Coffey!!!) with an almost identical break. "For the Girl who thinks her ass is out of this World" is the dedication!

TITLE: You've Got Me Hummin b/w Pop, Popcorn Children
ARTIST: DeWayne & The Beldettas
LABEL: Gator

The b-side wins again with this break-less cover of the Allen Toussaint classic!

TITLE: Get Out My Life Woman b/w Gotta Travel On
ARTIST: Allen Tousssaint
LABEL: Bell

Has been in the collection for at least ten years, but I just like showing this one. The end of the rainbow for a lot of diggers.

TITLE: Think About It b/w Do It
ARTIST: Burgess Gardner & The Soul Crusaders
LABEL: More Soul

The A-side isn't a cover of the Lyn Collins jammy, but it is a nice funky slow jam. Now the b-side is tres funky!!! I have another versioin of this song but can't remember the artist! (with vocals - any help out there???)

TITLE: Cheatin Woman b/w Pop, Popcorn Children
ARTIST: Eldridge Holmes
LABEL: Atco

A-side a great blues joint and the b-side is a storm of funk! Proof that not every crazy funk record was on some small obscure label.

TITLE: I'm A Carpenter pts. 1 & 2
ARTIST: David Robinson
LABEL: Orbitone

Proof that a lot of crazy funk records were on some obscure label.

TITLE: Taking Care of Your Main Man b/w inst.
ARTIST: Sugar
LABEL: Extremely Brave

There was a lot of pimping going on during the making of this record. The instrumental is music to get your 70's porno flick fuck on!

TITLE: Noise with the Boys b/w Thread that Needle
ARTIST: Al White & The Hi-Liters
LABEL: Tune-Kel

Dirty south funk with a great second-line break in the beginning!

TITLE: Big Things Come in Small Packages b/w Think About the Children
ARTIST: The Young Gents
LABEL: Buddah

Super heavy funk from some kids with a Napleon complex.
