COLLECTING SINCE: I bought my first record in December 1986, It was the 2nd Fat Boys LP, sounds kind of wack now, but I liked it back then! I got purchase dates, prices, places for every record I have ever bought since 1988! +2500 vinyls, all hip hop! I guess you can call me a vinyl nerd :o)
_FAVORITE DIGGING CITIES: I bought most of my records in Stockholm, but Las Vegas and London was nice too! Trading for rare records on the internet has been my best source though, thanks to my web page! Hip-Hop's VINYL HEAVEN

_FAVORITE LABELS: Wild Pitch, SoleSides, Cold Chillin / PRISM, ABB, Fondle 'Em, Stones Throw, Elektra, among others....
_DOLLAR BIN MIRACLE: An original copy of the Wild Style soundtrack for $3. One of my all time favorite old school records!!!
_MAGS OF CHOICE: Haven't bought a mag in a looooong time, I rather spend my money on vinyl!
_FAVORITE COVER: The Schoolly D 1985 album on his own label!
_TRACK TO MAKE LOVE TO:
no song in particular...

TITLE: Nitty Gritty 12"
ARTIST: KMD (Feat. L.O.N.S. and Brand Nubian)
LABEL: Elektra 1991

I just love the Dog Spelled Backwards mix of the Nitty Gritty track. Its so great to hear all the different McCoys on this track!

TITLE: Make the Music with Your Mouth, Biz 12"
ARTIST: Biz Markie
LABEL: PRISM 1986

This is my all-time favorite record, the title track is outstanding! Also includes The Biz Dance, A One Two and They're Coming to Take Me Away (ha haa). NOTE how the cover has - 12" SINGLE - written on the upper left corner. This indicates its the 1st pressing. There are also covers with just - EP - written on the upper right corner. Those are 2nd pressings.

TITLE: Lord Finesse LP
ARTIST: Funky Technician
LABEL: Wild Pitch 1990

This must have been the most slept on hip hop LP ever. How many people knew about Premier, Diamond D or Showbiz when this was released. I didn't! Sooo many great tracks!!! There is not many hip hop LP's that's better than this, if any!

TITLE: Clear Lake Audiotorium EP
ARTIST: De La Soul
LABEL: Tommy Boy 1994

This promo only EP features the best track DeLa's ever done (in my opinion), Which is "Sh.fe.mc's [Feat. ATCQ]". This is on light green clear vinyl in case you didn't know. Why was this never commercially released? I don't know... By the way, watch out for the recently released bootleg, which is also on clear (milky white vinyl though) vinyl!! The original promo has the following etched on the piece of vinyl next to the label "TB1093", while the bootleg has "TB1-013". Otherwise there's almost no difference, the label looks exactly the same. Beware!!

TITLE: Me or the Papes (Rae + Christian REMIX) 12"
ARTIST: Jeru The Damaja
LABEL: PayDay / FFRR 1997

This is a UK promo only release that has the Premier REMIX on the A-side and the Rae + Christian REMIX on the B-side. At first I thought the Premier REMIX was much better than the b-side. But with time, the Rae + Christian REMIX grew on me and now I like it much more than the Premier REMIX. Beating a premier remix says a whole lot! One more thing, the UK vinyl has a much higher/louder/better pressing than the US vinyl (the US vinyl pretty much sucks in sound quality).

TITLE: Biters of the city 12"
ARTIST: Fantasy Three
LABEL: C.C.L Records 1983

Very nice old school track, with nice rhymes and productions!! Fantasy Three dissing the Crash Crew (I think) for being biters in the city!!

TITLE: Da Funk Mode - Extra P REMIX 12"
ARTIST: Tragedy
LABEL:
25 II Life Entertainment 1995?

I don't know when this was released, but I guess about 1995 or earlier. Large Professor made the beats and Tragedy & Havoc (from Mobb Deep) are handling the mics. A must have!!!!

TITLE: We Rap More Mellow 12"
ARTIST: The Younger Generation
LABEL: Brass Records 1979

This is actually a Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 track and its one of their best. Need I say more?

TITLE: Marley Marl Scratch 12"
ARTIST: Marley Marl
LABEL: NIA 1985

Lovely production by Marley Marl. I guess MC Shan just had to give the man behind the wheels some credits!

TITLE: Fudge Pudge 12"
ARTIST: Organized Konfusion
LABEL: Hollywood Basic 1991

These guys can handle both the mics and the productions!!! NOTE this is the original LP version which also features O.C's first appearance on wax!!

TITLE: Protect Ya Neck 12"
ARTIST: Wu Tang
LABEL: Wu-Tang Records 1992

Debut single by the Wu-Tang, on their own independent label, before they got signed to Loud Records. Its almost 10 years old and it sounds so great.

TITLE: Longevity / Braggin Writes
ARTIST: J-Live
LABEL: Raw Shack Productions 1995

Braggin Writes is an incredible track with a live feeling to it, just like if it was made in someone's bedroom or something. NOTE this is the blue label pressing, which is the 1st pressing and there's were only 500 copies made!

TITLE: The Creator 12"
ARTIST: Pete Rock & CL Smooth
LABEL: Elektra 1991

The promo only Surfboard mix is completely different from the original version and much better (in my opinion). And well worth having! It almost sounds as if there's a live drummer on this one. With a horn in the background. Classic production by Pete Rock!!

TITLE: We Specialize / Searching - REMIX 12"
ARTIST: Pete Rock & CL Smooth
LABEL: Elektra Japan 1996

Rare Japanese only release! The We Specialize track is amazing and the Searching REMIX is totally different from the original and much better. As far as I know, this is the only official release of these tracks, all other records with these tracks are bootlegs! Again, classic production by Pete Rock!!!

TITLE: Unified Rebelution 12"
ARTIST: Unity Committee & Rebels Of Rhythm
LABEL: ? 1994

These guys later changed their name to: Jurassic 5!! I think this is the 1st pressing, only 500 copies made! 2nd pressing is on a blue label, 500 copies made of that one too. Track list is as follows: Side A - Unified Rebelution vocal, Nu Mark Bonus eats, Unified Rebelution acapella, Side B - Lesson 4: The Radio - Unified Rebelution, instrumental - Quality Control.

TITLE: One Love - Dimention Ball REMIX 12"
ARTIST: Nas
LABEL: ??

It sounds as if there's live instruments on this remix, completely different from the original!. This is written on the label: Produced by Nujabes For Hyde Out Production, for promotional use only not for sale. I don't know when this was released or on what label. It sure is a nice record though :o)

TITLE: Swan Lake / Lyric Fathom 12"
ARTIST: Blackalicious
LABEL: SoleSides 1994

I only wish they would have added an instrumental version of Swan Lake on this 12, its a shame they didn't. Lovely track, a must have. Second release on the SoleSides label.

TITLE: Ego Tripping / Funky Potion 12"
ARTIST: Ultramagnetic MC's
LABEL: Next Plateau 1986

One of the best beats ever! Produced by Ced G. Excellent appearance by Kool Keith. CLASSIC!
