TITLE: Solstice
ARTIST: Brian Bennett
LABEL: OJM 1978

Ifirst heard of this from one of the dusty fingers comps. smooth space funk at its finest....wish i had the lp (although i heard it is kinda weak).

TITLE: Whatchagonnadoaboutit b/w Nefertiti
ARTIST: Wisdom
LABEL: Adelia Records 1975

2 words: percussion funk! don't let the label fool ya! this is not as funky as "hihache" (and what is?), but this is definately a great addition to any funk 45 collection. i've never seen an lp on these guys though.

TITLE: Gaz
ARTIST: Sing Sing
LABEL: Salsoul 1974

Baltimore's anthem (if you ever heard the local "knucklehead" or "baltimore club music"..then you would know what i mean)!! in mono (well...stereo on the flip)!! loud drums..driving break! 'nuff said!

TITLE: "California Soul"
ARTIST: Marlena Shaw
LABEL: Cadet ?

the classic....unearthed by primo on gangstarr's first lp! one of my alltime favorite breaks/loops!

TITLE: Masia (do the masai children)
ARTIST: Jungle Jim
LABEL: Renee 197?

find it! you won't be disappointed!!

TITLE: UFO
ARTIST: ESG
LABEL: Factory/99 198?

the classic...probably the best '80's breaks/sounds out there! i want the lp!!!

TITLE: Theme from Black Belt Jones b/w Love Theme from Black Belt Jones
ARTIST: Dennis Coffee
LABEL: Warner Brothers 1974

the shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzzzzzznnnnniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttt!!!

TITLE: S'Alright
ARTIST: Element
LABEL: Balto 197?

i am from the baltimore area so i had to represent!! this funky/jazzy chunk of rareness comes from my favorite diggin hole (top cat record and novelty). no year is on the label...so i don't know what year it is exactly from. i love the label though...well worth the $1.

TITLE: Walkin'
ARTIST: Fly-Face
LABEL: Fly Face 197?

another local funk 45....complete with a break near the end. i assume this was a local band promo release...because there is no clear label...and it is produced by the "fly-face band". typical funk 45...but the break w/cowbell near the end makes this tight.

TITLE: PULLY BONE
ARTIST: Macon
LABEL: Capricorn 197?

when i first heard this on one of the soulman joints...i almost flipped. i went on a search for it and came up with 2 white promo copies! raw drums on this funky rock 45. a must have in the collection.
