This is the Elliptical version of the popular Nightclub Cartridge. This means you get a better sound quality for recording than the spherical version, but tracking is not as tight so spherical is better for DJing (back cueing, scratching, etc).Ortofon's top of the line, the Night Club gets their highest mark for sound quality. It has become the high-end industry standard for club djs and studio workers with an excellent reputation for performance and durability. Output is 6.0mV with a frequency response rating high enough to compare the Night Club to audiophile cartridges. If your main focus is sound and recording, these are the an excellent choice.
