Behold the Roland TR-303. Chicago acid house lovers and jackmasters, who aren't lucky enough to actually own one of these vintage tools, can now own all the samples, tones, and patterns on this one cd. For those in the dark, the TR-303 was one of the Roland's first units attempting to be a automated bass player. Not so popular upon initial release, but when the TR-303 fell into the hands of budding Acid house producers, such as Phuture, DJ Pierre, and Mr. Lee, it spawned a movement essential to electronic dance music today. Laid out with the producer in mind, tracks 2-13 are all 303 patterns that range from 120, 130, and 150 bpm. Tracks 14-46 are all voice data sampled in three octaves, with different samples for each parameter: wave form, cut off freq, resonance, env mod, and decay. Pretty in-exhaustive, when considering the all the possibilities modern samplers have.
