Lab Overview

Prince is resting in power, and his magic & genius will live on for generations to come. A singular Artist who influenced the game like no other, he was a fearless original and loved by the world for it. Purple Rain is the 6th studio album from the icon, and it is also the soundtrack to the 1984 rock-musical-drama film of the same name. “When Doves Cry,” Lets Go Crazy,” “Purple Rain,” “Take Me With U,” and “I would Die 4 U,” singles from the 9-tracker, were worldwide hits, and Purple Rain is one of the most important of musical outputs, on par with the likes of Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Here are some words from Prince, speaking on the meaning of the title: “When there’s blood in the sky - red and blue = purple… purple rain pertains to the end of the world and being with the one you love a letting your faith/god guide you through the purple rain.” Powerful.
