This is, in my opinion, one of the most amazing displays of visuals set to an entire album. (I even prefer watching this over the Pink Floyd x Wizard Of Oz trick.) The ever-genius Daft duo team up with legendary 70's anime producer Leiji Matsumoto to create a totally fresh visualization of their "Discovery" album. If you've seen the video to "One More Time" (with the blue anime people playing instruments and singing the song) then you've already seen a small sample of the whole movie. Just to get it straight - the ENTIRE movie is set to the music. There isn't a moment of anime visuals not set to something from the Daft album. And thankfully the film has no dialogue and minimal sound effects to detract from the score, instead it plays out as a sort of sci-fi "Fantasia" to funky house music. Surprisingly, the plot is actually pretty good (though cheesy as you would expect) and works out well strictly through the rich visuals. Is there anything these Daft dudes can't do? An absolute must for Daft Punk fans and animation fans alike. 65 minutes long with tons of bonus features including Daft Karaoke!
