Loaded DVD release of this 2007 biopic on Joy Division's late lead singer, Ian Curtis, from acclaimed music video director Anton Corbijn (Nirvana, Depeche Mode, Metallica). This 2-hour b&w film (starring Sam Riley, who could have fronted a JD tribute band if he wasn't already an actor) was Corbijn's first feature film and drew rave reviews from critics around the world. This "Miriam Collection" edition features a full-length audio commentary and additional conversation with Corbijn, a "making of" featurette, production still gallery, extended live performances from the film, plus three Corbijn-directed music videos from Joy Division and The Killers. Fans of Curtis will obviously want to check out this account of the man's oft-mythologized life, but even film fans who may be Joy Division n00bs should take note -- main man Roger Ebert said Control "works simultaneously as a musical biopic and the story of a life."
