Sure, this may be one of the more obvious releases on the mysterious Automan imprint, but that certainly doesn't mean that the music is any less compelling. "Peaches & Prunes(1)" is easily Nightlife Unlimited's most memorable piece of music, having been made famous by the one and only Ron Hardy at Chicago's Muzik Box club. It's an uptempo floor-filler for sure, with wicked drum fills aplenty and catchy vox peppered throughout ("it's magic!"). (This extended re-edit is supposedly the work of Mr. Hardy himself. -Ed.) Double A-side status is confirmed with Klein & MBO's magnificent "MBO Theme(2)," sneakily listed as " _ _ _ Theme," on the flipside. Electrofied post-disco at its finest, this was another one Mr. Hardy helped to make famous.
