A mysterious bearded guy from Brooklyn has just unleashed some nasty disco edits that have been traveling way beyond this dirty borough and out to the likes of Carl Craig, Lindstrom, and Trevor Jackson. Using a couple of dusty disco cuts, My Cousin Roy slices and dices, creating some serious heady grooves. "Bobbi's Back(1)" is a wild beast of a track, with a Liquid Liquid style bassline and a percussive disco sound that is so out there it almost reaches techno territory. "Make It Yourself(2)" is more on the punk funk tip, dubby Clash sounding muzak for your head. This label is definitely one to watch if the first release is anything to go by. Getting support from Prins Thomas, Brennan Green, Todd Terje, Tim Sweeney (DFA), Tim "Love" Lee, Alex from Tokyo, Nick Chacona, Citizen Kane, and DJ Spun (Rong Records).
