Toronto's Stop Die Resuscitate had me from the first line of "Bad Night(1)": "I hear ghosts on the radio / I see zombies on the dancefloor..." No idea how everyone slept on this single so long (or was it just me?), 'cause both of SDR's originals are killers! On the "Mal Nuit" remix(2), Institubes' Tacteel turns the dirty dance sound of the original into a cascade of 8-bit blips and fey disco synths, while TTC's Teki gets (presumably) nasty on the bonus verse. On the flip, "Bounce(3)" is a particularly dark and nasty piece of electro - lots of cusswords and a heavy industrial sound that would annoy the shit out of most club managers. In other words, awesome. The remix from Leif(4) retains the original's heavy, layered sound while adding heavy tribal drums. Also includes the instrumental for "Bad Night." Recommended.
