R E V I E W
New album presented by the west coast's own Kero One. We've carried a lot of his singles before, so you should already know that his selections are uplifting, positive jams with smooth jazzy beats. Quite different from here in NY. Here we have hipster electro rock, reggae/dancehall, and Nas with the whole "Hip Hop is Dead" kick, but on the West Coast, cats like Kero One are holding it down for positive hip hop and those with an optimistic reaction to all the crap that's going on. This time he gives each track his undivided attention, with a slew of guests, like Aloe Blacc & King Most on "With My Firends(1)," Aloe again with Kero One on "Get Down(2)," the funky latin flavor of Yosaku's "Future Paradise(3)," Niamaj with Kero One on,"Yagotta - Raindrops Remix(4)" and Rashaan Ahmad and Kero One on "Here We Go(5)." Other guests inlcude Choclit Kennedy aka Ohmega Watts and Tableek of Maspyke. Of course there are Kero One tracks also - "Check The Blueprints - Japanese Version(6)." Being from Cali myself I practically lived off positive early 90's hip hop cuts, so I've had my fair share. But for some, Kero is the hero to a culture filled with love for the music and community.
