Rodney Barkerr is one of those Chicago acid house guys that never really got as much praise as Phuture or Piere, but god damn did he put out some jams! "House Girl(1)" was one of those circuit house records that every DJ carried with him at all times, rockin' spoken word vocals, a smooth as hell bassline, and some banging drum work. The guitar samples kinda sell the original, and they really carry along the "Dunn For The Funn Mix(2)" done by Mike Dunn. This version is more the party house track with perfectly executed breakdowns. Where this EP really shines is the straight jackin' "Serge & Tyrell Edit(3)" on the flip. Holy sick as fuck acid bassline, Batman! God DAMN! I know what I'm banging the hell out of from now on. I totally remember hearing Theo Parrish and some of the other oldschool Detroit house heads playing this, and I never ran to the decks to check it out - but now I know! Recommended. Thank you Clone Classic Cuts!
