Right In The Socket

R E V I E W
"Do I Do(1)," is classic dance floor Stevie. Clocking in at about 10 minutes long, this song is full of ups, downs and the occasional harmonica solo (I think!). Recently made famous again by none other then Ja Rule, this song is perfect for your late night or pre-jiggy sets. Maybe even prime time if you're lucky. The fact that it's 10 minutes and you can get away with pretty much playing the whole thing makes this record a steal alone. A dj could do a lot of things in 10 minutes. Take a shit, smoke a cigarette, hunt down the waitress with your drinks, pack up, or kick it to the foreign birds asking for hip hop instead of colored music. Yep, colored music! Just when you feel like you've made it, some chick comes up to the booth and gets on you for playing too much colored music. It's a good thing I'm a black man and naturally attracted to white women, because we would've had a serious problem if she wasn't one. On the flip is the much slept on "Right In The Socket(2)" by Shalamar, which I'm not even going to elaborate on. If you don't get it, you just don't get it. That being said, this is a dope record for any fan of Stevie or music in general.
