Man, just when you thought they couldn't bring out any more heat - the Loft Classics series comes on strong with volume 11. This is one of my favorite out of the bunch (but really, they are all so good) with 3 incredible tracks from styles ranging from straight disco, jazz funk disco to dubbed out synth-pop! Francine McGee's amazing "Delirium(1)" takes up the A-side at 45 RPM in all it's instrumental disco glory. An irresistible groover. Side B (33 RPM) features Don Ray's amazing "Standing In The Rain(2)" - with it's perfect balance of pumping disco grooves, hype horns, arpeggiated synth work, and melancholy vocals, as well as Jah Wobble, Jaki Lebezeit and Holger Czukay (of Can)'s dubbed out no-wave excursion "How Much Are They?(3)." Killer, killer, killer! Tracks like these are rare to come by (to say the least). Recommended.
