Joe Bataan Call My Name 12"

the lab review
If all comebacks were as sweet as Joe Bataan's, the world would be a better place. The elderly would star in pornos (they do in Japan), vegetarians would wither away (or eat smoked brisket to survive), and everyone would ride 10-speed bikes (instead of fixies). Seriously, Bataan's Call My Name album gave us a glimpse of something rarely done right. With the help of producer Daniel Collas (producer of another Lab favorite Banda Unaio Black), Joe Bataan created a beautiful thing; and presented here in glorious 12" format is arguably the album's finest moment(1) with its unreleased instrumental. B-side also reveals a serious treat with the unreleased "I'm The Fool(2)," a righteous, percussion-heavy instrumental j.a.m. Recommended.
