Official vinyl from Michna's (aka Egg Foo Young from the Lab) solo debut. Though I hope the whole thing comes out on vinyl eventually, this EP featuring 6 of the album's 12 tracks will definitely do it for now. Ya'll should recognize "Triple Chrome Dipped(1)" from the blog and the Boy Cat Bird video for it on Cartoon Network. Gotta love the way those vocal tones mesh with the bed of synths to create a dreamy mood over the bmore-ish drums. "Swiss Glide(2)" takes a tougher, more beat driven hip hop approach, but still has that inherent musicality thanks to live horn action (from Adrian of course) and subtle glitchy effects. For downtempo styles also check the "Avante(3)" with it's soothing groove and Aphex-ish synth work and for something more driving, there's the experimental sounds of "Raw Paw(4)" in which Michna really goes off on some quick breaks shit. Also includes "Levitation(5)" and "Believe In It(6)." Recommended for sure.
