V/A District Maryland Virginia: Compilation Of The Rarest Synth Funk, Go-Go & Boogie 1983-1985 EP

the lab review
First compilation release from the Peoples Potential Unlimited label. As usual PPU digs deeper than most as DMV collects some of the rarest and most awesome synth funk go-go boogie you've never heard. These tracks lay down the serious FUNK and all originate from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area circa '83-'85. If you're with it, then go on and feel the energy of Expression's funked-out "Release(1)," Jimmy Bennett & The Family's KILLER go-go slap-bass jam "Hold That Groove (2)," Mix-O-Rap's cosmic go-go instrumental "All Party People (3)" (edited by Andrew Morgan), and Checker Kabb's major boogie action on "By My Side Instrumental(4)." Just like all the other PPU releases, finding these tracks on OG is next to impossible, so don't sleep on this comp! Recommended.
