DFP and BBE strike again! You should already know about Dimitri From Paris' infallible disco selection from BBE's Disco Forever comp (or the fact he has been DJin disco and house for 25+ years), but this time the Frenchman shares his love for the 80's dub mix over 3LPs of unmixed(!) vintage dance goodness. The selection focuses on the B- sides of classic 80's R&B boogie, funk, and electro disco 12"s, where the remixer took control and dubbed out the track to make it easier (and more fun) to mix and groove to on the dancefloor. This was a crucial point in dance music as legends like Francois K, Larry Levan, Tee Scott, Shep Pettibone, John Morales & Sergio Muzibai (M&M), and others took influence from the Jamaica's dub producers and boldy stretched the boundaries of traditional club music by stripping down vocal versions and rebuilding the arrangements with then-new methods and techniques. This is a sound that has influenced so much of today's dance music, it's great someone has finally put together a proper compilation - and who better than DFP?
